Just being good is not enough!
Within the sculpture ‘Just Being Good Is Not Enough!’ from the Inversion collection, a poignant narrative unfolds. A figure, half-standing with bloodshot eyes, embodies the paradox of goodness tinged with a sense of stagnation. Despite outward appearances, the soul within seems to kneel in silent suffering, waiting for some transformative event. The emptiness within, symbolized by a decision-deprived skull, yearns for companionship yet remains immobilized by inaction. The poignant twist lies in the acknowledgment that, despite the absence of harm towards others, the character’s goodness, in this context, is not sufficient. The artwork prompts reflection on the nuanced dimensions of virtue and challenges the notion that mere abstention from harm fulfills the spectrum of ethical existence.
